They Say It's Your Birthday

1. as you get older, are you jazzed about your birthday?

Yeah, it's more internalized, but it's a big deal. This year is a Big Deal because of the number.

2. do people usually remember your birthday?

My family does. Close friends, and Facebook friends, do. Otherwise, I don't make a big deal of it.

3. an ex-coworker used to begin 3 mos. before her birthday flat-out reminding us that it was coming up. it's amazing what no self-esteem does for you. anyway, do you know anyone who pre-announces their birthdays?

I try really hard not to but this year has been particularly hard since it's a zero-number. I think I've been pretty good about it. By the way, I don't mind when other people do this, unless it's an obvious plea for prezzies.

4. what was your best birthday? why?

16 was good. Mom let me have a birthday party on my 8th birthday; that was fun. 21 was fun, too, and no it wasn't because I got to drink. I was already legal at 18.

5. what was your worst birthday? why?

I don't remember the worse/worst ones. I mean, why bother?

6. name your best birthday gift.

Cowboy hat and boots I got on my 16th. See above about "best"--man, I loved those!

7. name the best birthday gift you've gotten for someone else.

I have no idea. Once given, forgotten. You'd have to ask the recipients, really.

8. as i age, i value SLEEP as a priceless commodity. i didn't get any for my birthday, however. what do you want this year for your birthday?

Yeah, sleep sounds really good right now. Especially since my plan was to finish this and try to settle down for a nap. ;-)
