Back in the Highlights Again
  1. What was your highlight in dining for 2016?
It kind of has to be our first night on the cruise, the Italian restaurant on the boat. Wonderful food, incredible service. Interesting people to watch, too, and our server was (rather weirdly) Indian rather than Italian which was strange only in the pronunciation of the food ultimately.
  2. What was your highlight in relationships for 2016?
Just continuing to find out how many good friends and people are out there to help and support me.
  3. What was your highlight in entertainment for 2016?
Well, we'll probably go see the Star Wars movie next week but aside from that Fantastic Beasts was really good.
  4. What was your highlight in self-improvement for 2016?
Endless meetings, lots of reading. Talking. Listening.
  5. What was your highlight in completing something for 2016?
I seem to have regained my footing at work. Let's just home I can maintain. I had a backslide this week, but I dealt with it differently. So maybe that's improvement.

Saturday Six
....the last one....new things ahead next week....

1. What epitaph would you like to have engraved on your tombstone?
One strong contender: "I hate publishers!" I say it an awful lot. Otherwise: "Leave me alone and let me sleep." I can be snarky about it because I really have no intention to be buried. Take the organs that are usable, and then either cremate me or send me off for medical research.
2. If you could be certain that there is an afterlife, what would you want heaven to be like?
I would hope all the people I love are there, those that have gone on before me. Otherwise, I don't much care. I'll gladly leave the details to the Big Guy.
3. If you could bring back a deceased relative you knew in your childhood back today to have a conversation with, whom would you choose and why?
I'd love to have a long conversation with either one of my grandmothers: Grandma before she went goofy at the end, and Nannie...well, anytime. I think she was pretty coherent up to the end. I wonder if they'd answer questions honestly. I have tons.
4. Do you consider death to be more of an ending or more of a beginning?
Both.
5. Do you ever feel as if you “hear” from people you know who have died, as if by hearing “their voice” or sensing an insight that you don’t think you would have gained on your own?
I heard Dad several months after he died. Just the once. That was enough. He wasn't happy with me. I'm sure several of them have surrounded me in the worst of the years since they died, keeping me safe and sane, and sending me book recommendations.
6. Aside from your epitaph, how do you hope those who have been closest to you in your life will truly remember you?
I hope they know I tried my best, did more good than evil, and worked very hard to become the person God intended me to be.

Blogthings (still catching up)

You Would Not Survive an apocalypse
Like 99% of people, you're so not prepared for an end of the world scenario.

Guess that's why they call it 'the end of the world'! You'll take your chances on that not happening.

While you may not need to be set for crazy times, you may want a burrito or two in your freezer for a rainy day.

And look on the bright side. If the zombie apocalypse really happens, maybe you'll get to be a zombie!
I'm totally banking on becoming a zombie, and quickly!

You Should Go On a Cooking Class Date
You're an energetic person who has trouble sitting still for anything, including at date. You are more of a doer.

You rather be on a date where you're busy with an activity. And it would be fun to see how well you work together.

While a cooking date is unusual, it's still romantic and domestic. If things go well, you may be cooking for each other for a long time.

And if the date doesn't go well, then at least you've picked up a handy, new cooking skill to use on someone else!
Uhm, yeah, so I hate cooking--I maybe have mentioned that--but ironically I have actually been considering taking a cooking class with Beast. Weird.

You Are Idealistic
You're an optimist who can't help but root for the best in everyone. You are naturally happy.

And while you may be starry eyed, there's nothing simple about you. You are a complex and deep person.

You intuitively understand people, and you do your best to help them. You are very service-oriented.

You are quiet and often thinking. You are a visionary who seeks meaning and purpose in all aspects of life.
Yeah, that's me.  I'm not fond of the dress, though it's the best of the options I was given from which to choose.

Saturday Special

~The End~

1. What's your favorite type of ending to a movie/play?
I don't like movies that end with everything tied up in a neat little package. On the other hand, I don't like movies that just STOP either. I do want some closure, preferably at least a glint of hope, or redemption.

Who am I kidding? I love happy endings.
2. What's your favorite type of ending to a book/novel?
See above re neatly tied up endings. I really hate those. Again, there must be closure on at least some of the story (or what's the point, after all?), but I don't mind leaving some things untidy. I actually don't even care if it's a happy ending in a book, though I do prefer the bad guys lose!
3. What would be your favorite ending to your life story?
Happy Sparky, lots of accomplishments, and a jammin' funeral.
4. What would be your favorite sentence ending to these ridiculous questions?
"Goodbye."
[tho' I'm not sure if I understand this question...]
