Sunday Stealing

(Link in meme-roll)
The Authentic Meme

1. How long have you been blogging?
My book blog started in January of 2004. The other (main) ones started soon thereafter. This one's been around since May '04.
2. Did you go to college?
Yuppers. And grad school.
3. Where have you traveled?
Mostly North America and Europe, but I've also been to Siberia, Mongolia, and China.
4. Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
I do not. I get mistaken for lots of non-celebrities, however.
5. What are your three biggest pet peeves?
Bad grammar/spelling (beyond typos--I'm talking a complete inability to spell or create a coherent paragraph; no one reading this is likely to be problematic :-D)
Mommy-bloggers who post gazillions of photos of their kids, and whose lives revolve 100% around their Perfectly Gorgeous and Angelic Offspring. To be fair, I also don't enjoy food-porn, exercise-porn, or other one-note blogs.
And blogposts that turn out to be ads; I really really hate those.
6. What is your favorite movie?
Almost any musical from the 50s or early 60s, or "Heathers."
7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?
The only thing on that list I won't drink is beer. My go-to is diet Dr. Pepper. But I like a good Stoli tonic with a lime twist or Stoli rocks occasionally as well.
8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?
Sleeping. OK, seriously, I like soaking in the tub--haven't done that much since January, and reading.
9. What is your biggest phobia?
Looking stupid.
10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past?
In light of the previous answer, is that really a likely occurrence? lol
11. What day would you love to relive again? Why?
It would be great to go back and revisit some of Sparky's early years. Preferably NOT a day he was sick or crabby, though. [See, I don't dislike mommies or kiddies, but I do have issues with crazy obsession.]
12. If your life was turned into a movie… what actor would your best friend think should play you?
I don't know. You might want to ask her/him/them.
13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?
My first job-for-pay was babysitting, which I did, as traditionally, from age 12 through high school; I also volunteered in the church nursery and did a LOT of time in the 2-year-old room there. Then for 18 months or so I worked as a shelver at my local library. In college, I worked at and then ran the language lab where people would come to practice their conversational skills: tape recorders a-go-go. And I had a regular gig at the campus radio station and eventually because station manager--though that was unpaid. After that, in grad school, I worked in the university special collections/archives area, where I learned to catalog archives and read a lot of the Marquis de Sade and old Playboys.
14. Show us a picture from high school or college.
Fuck no. [see #9]
15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?
I'd hire a yacht, fully staffed, and see the world.
16. Where do you see your life 6 and 1/2 years from now?
That is truly a random number of years!! Sparky will be turning 26 that month. Hopefully I'm still at my current job. Maybe by then we'll be able to visit Colorado or other lovely places more often.
17. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be and why?
30 was a pretty good year.
18. What 5 songs are included on the soundtrack to your life? (You can pick "Middle School", "High School", "College", "Post College" or any format you like.)
My college years were full of Hüsker Dü, OMD, Bodeans, Spandau Ballet, and Deluxury. I can't pick 5 songs: music was huge. Huge.
19. Romney picked Paul Ryan to run as his veep. Any thoughts?
Nope. Never heard of him. Hoping I never have to find anything out about him beyond the fact that he thinks I'm incapable of making good decisions because I'm female.
20. Your chance: Pick a meme you've done for us to steal. Bud and Judd will visit EVERY post today. Feel free to say, "Bugger off", or anything like that.
Oh hell, Bud; you can steal anything off my blog anytime. I hope you "guys" know that!! Click on the "Surveys" tag and have at it.

I would be too chicken to travel by yacht, even a fully-staffed one.
