Thirteen things I can do at work now that my catalog cart is clear (for the first time in about two years)
Check all the items on the on-order lists to see if we've received any of them, and generally clean the damn things up. (I got rid of about 100 items that had arrived and never came off the lists--fail!)- Run list after list of items we own for more accurate collection count. The ones I've run already show me how important it is that I do this; we're 10,000 off on adult non-fiction alone!
- Dead Deweys return!
- Clean out old email.
- Work on Bookletters order. I've checked the list to see what we own already--rough month, not many.
- Work on this month's Awards. I've checked to see if we own any. We don't own too many Lambda Award books--big shock--but we're also low on the RITA Award-winners.
- Reclass the moving reference books.
- Weed the reference 800s.
- Place collection development orders for my sections.
- Cleanup: Subjects, Typos, Death-dates, Series, problematic authors with similar names.
- Prep lists for above Cleanup from this month's lists. If any; LC seems to have dropped off the map this summer on their subject heading lists.
- ...sigh... Catch up on Autocat. There are at least 600 posts I haven't read.
- Sleep at my desk. Ha ha ha ha (not).

Whoa.........looks like you have plenty to keep you busy. If you do the first twelve, there will be no time to do number 13!! I say start at the bottom of the list....lol!
I am a new participant in this meme. You can see my post at http://lusravesandrants.blogspot.com/2011/08/thursday-thirteen.html
How long will your cart remain clear?
