Power is back; freezer is empty.
That's the big news: we lost power for two full days and most everything in the freezer started to defrost so I'm throwing a lot of it out. :-( I really feel for people who are still electricity-free, going into day 5. The upside for us is that we now have a generator, so we can plug in next time and have access to everything but A/C. Even the heat will work, since it's gas with an electric fan. And we'll be able to shower and flush toilets--being on a well has its drawbacks for sure.

Glad the power is back! What a hassle to lose all your groceries, though.

Oh man, losing power is the worst! You're smart to throw things out instead of trying to salvage them. It's not worth getting sick over!
I feel for you I used to live in the middle of no where and power outages could last a week plus it was awful in the summer.
