Thursday 13

(Link in meme-roll)
Leçons de la semaine
  1. Pay attention while driving. Two seconds' distraction is enough to cause all kinds of havoc.
  2. Be careful what you wish for. I was vaguely wishing for a new (i.e., different) car. Well, looks like I'll be getting one.
  3. Don't take ANYthing for granted. It's a hard way to live, but everything can, and sometimes does, change in a heartbeat.
  4. Good neighbors and friends are worth gold and diamonds.
  5. The house phone ringing at 10 p.m. is almost never good news.
  6. When someone you love asks you to keep a secret from someone else you love, it's a terrible situation to be put into.
  7. Don't wait till a month before a big vacation to book hotels if you want to have a decent choice. Unless you don't mind paying a fortune.
  8. I should definitely NOT consider a career as a bookkeeper or accountant. All those numbers in a spreadsheet, while manageable, give me a giant headache AND make me anxious.
  9. Quick-prep foods are REALLY FREAKIN' SALTY! Holy cats, I could've drunk a gallon or more of water yesterday afternoon after heating up and eating one of those Marie Callendar's things!
  10. I like "Bones." I like bones, too, but I'm talking about the TV show.
  11. Not having my own wheels has some benefits: I got some good fellowship time in the church kitchen yesterday, and I'm eating less crap (#9 notwithstanding).
  12. Some weeks, I just need to not worry about not being able to get traction at work. Getting nowhere SUX, but it's part of life.
  13. I need to clean this house. Soon. And well.

Oh no, sounds like a pretty bad accident! I hope you weren't hurt. What will you get for your car?

No one was hurt (except my ego, which is pretty battered). My neighbor gets a new salt spreader and bumper, and I get to spend a LARGE amount of money on fines and a new (used) car; probably a small SUV, like a RAV4 or Forester. Whatever Carmax has around, really.
