Patrick's Place

(Link in blogroll)
Sunday 7

Name the seven clichés that you’d most like to ban from the English language.
  1. "At the end of the day..." [Holy moley, that one came out of nowhere and won't go away!]
  2. "Going forward" [ditto above--though this one sounds suspiciously British to me]
  3. Irregardless
  4. "The point is..." [My sister says this ALL THE FREAKIN TIME and it makes me crazy. Nearly every discussion involves her saying this at least three times.]
  5. ...anything related to lolcats... [They aren't that funny, and it's embarrassing the feline population]
  6. Inasmuch as
  7. Definitely [although I mind this much more when it's spelled "definately" or "defenitly" or other random ways]
