Five on Friday

Commuter Traffic

1. Do you commute to work or another place (gym, playgroup, school, etc.) on a regular basis? Do you drive, walk, take public transportation, or car pool?
I drive to work...and everywhere else. We live in podunk ... there are no real options for public transportation around here.
2. How far is your commute and how long does it usually take you to get there?
It's about 20 minutes between work and home. It's about 12 to church. It's about 15 to the nearest real grocery store....
3. What kind of traffic do you usually deal with during your commute?
As long as I don't leave between 7:30 and 8 a.m., it's pretty easy. That half hour, however, is when EVERYone is on the road, plus every school bus in the area. It's really slow.
4. Do you prefer commuting shorter distances at slower speeds, longer distances at higher speeds, or some mix of the two?
Short and slower is fine with me.
5. What is your commuting nightmare or worry?
I don't really have a nightmare except that mentioned above (which isn't THAT big a deal!) and snow. Most of my drive is country roads, so ice is an issue this time of year. In warmer weather, the wind can be problematic sometimes too. Oh: deer. I do worry a bit about the deer coming out of the woods down to the creek across the road.
