Laundry
1 . Do you do your own laundry or do you send it out?
"Send it out?" No, we are boring middle class and the thought of sending it out never crosses our minds. Beast does at least 90% of it. I hate doing laundry, but I would never send it out.2. Do you [do] laundry at your home or a laundromat?
Home. Unless the washer or dryer breaks.3. Are there certain articles of clothing that you need to have dry-cleaned on a regular basis?
There are a couple of my sweaters that have to be dry-cleaned, and Beast's suit/sport coats...which reminds me that I need to go pick them up today, along with my dress.4. How often do you do laundry? Is there a certain day of the week that you consider "laundry day?"
Beast does laundry on Saturdays (Friday nights and Sunday mornings count as Saturday). My mom always did laundry on Saturdays. I used to try to spread it out over the week, but that just made EVERY day "laundry day" which was the pits.5. Do you iron your clothes as you pull them out of the dryer or do you wait until just before you wear the clothing to iron?
I used to iron everything "just because" and also because I never could get to the dryer soon enough to remove stuff before it wrinkled. Beast is MUCH better about this, and we rarely iron now. In fact, since moving to this house, I think I've only had the ironing board out...uhm, twice. Maybe.6. Do you hang your clothes outside to dry or do you dry them in a dryer?
There are no laundry lines in this subdivision. I think it may even be against the homeowner's association rules...which just makes me want to do it for that very reason. However, in reality, if I hung out my clothes to dry, I couldn't wear them because they'd send my allergies into overdrive.7. Do you own things that need to be hand-washed or do you try to avoid buying things that you can't wash in the washing machine?
I do own things that need hand-washing, and I will do them by hand, but I can also put them in the washer on gentle in a net bag and they get clean that way with much less hassle. I do try to avoid buying hand-wash stuff, but sometimes you just have to.
