1. The Misanthtropic: Name something (about humanity) you absolutely hate.
I've been doing these now for several weeks (months?), and each week I find it really hard to come up with something that I haven't already talked about. On the one hand, I'd love to say that I hate "people like [fill-in-the-blank] because of [whatever]" but I always end up saying it more generally. What it boils down to, though, always seems to be that I really hate that people are so quick to be hateful toward one another. Is it too much to ask that we at least TRY to have some empathy? And am I talking about myself here?2. The Meretricious: Expose something or someone that’s phony, fraudulent or bogus.
OK, moving along....
Maybe it's the nice weather we've been having, or the fact that I was very churchy yesterday, but I can't think of anything that I've come across lately that has personally annoyed me in this way. Really. I'm stumped. Sorry. Can't do it.3. The Malcontent: Name something you’re unhappy with.
Last Friday, Sparky's class had their class picnic (they haven't had "school" for over a week, but I'm not even going there!). Somehow, I missed the information about them spending the entire day outside, and of course Sparky slept through any announcements to that fact. In any case, they did (spend the day outside), and no one had sunscreen. So my red-headed, fair-unto-translucent-skinned baby (ahem) spent the weekend looking as if he was horribly embarrassed, and a redneck to boot. He'd spent two straight days at a nearby Giant-Amusement-Park earlier in the week and managed to keep from lobsterdom, but didn't take the sunscreen to school on Friday because why would you need sunscreen at school?? {eyeroll}4. The Meritorious: Give someone credit for something and name it if you can.
[aside: He is supposed to spend today at the city's "water park" a.k.a. swimming pool, and it's pouring rain outside right now (and our a/c just switched on--WTF?) with the Weather Channel forecasting showers and "T-showers" all day. Glad I'm not going on that 'field trip!' The high today looks like 65 degrees. Whee........]
Sparky, for surviving middle school!5. The Mirror: See something good about yourself and name it
It sometimes takes me awhile, but I can get enthusiastic about almost anything.6. The Make-Believe: Name something you wish for.
A President that the majority of the country can really get behind, who upholds the true values of our country, and isn't polarizing.
And also, since I'm living in la-la land: world peace and flying pigs.
