The Survey Place

1. Where is your dad right now? Depends on your point of view: either in Crown Hill cemetery, or in heaven discussing politics with people he's surprised to be seeing there.

2. Last time you kissed someone? Last night when the boys went to bed. I only hugged Sparky today, and I got home from work after they were asleep tonight.

3. What is something you've learned about yourself recently? That I'm more politically aware than I thought.

4. What color is your watch? Brown band, silver base, white face with black numbers and yellow highlights.

5. Who do you like? Lots of people.

6. Are you close with your mom? Neither physically nor emotionally. Temperamentally, yes.

7. Where does your best friend work? One works for Brownberry (yes, the bread company) and the other works at a library.

8. What are you listening to right now? "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" on TV (the original British version)

9. What do you smell like? 13-hour-old perfume, candy, and myself, I guess.

10. What color are your pants? Very light tan.

12. What color is your bedroom flooring? Pale blue carpet.

13. Do you have a chair in your room? Yes.

14. What time of day were you born? Late in the evening.

15. Do you know anyone who is engaged? Yes, my niece.

17. Do you know someone named Lori? Yes, I do.

18. What color is your mom's hair? White as snow.

19. Do you have a dog? Nope.

20. Do you remember singing any songs as a kid? Well, yeah. Doesn't everyone sing? Especially when you're little? If you're asking for a list, I can't possibly do that, however; we were a very 'singy' family.

21. When was the last time you went swimming? I had to "pass" a "swimming test" to graduate high school...so, 25 years ago.

22. When was the last time you talked to one of your siblings? Talked? Probably about a month, since Marie went home. I got an email from her this morning, though, and the rest of us have been emailing back and forth all month.

23. Did you ever go to camp as a kid? Nope. Deprived childhood, eh?

24. Do you play an instrument? Flute. And I can noodle around on the piano a bit.

25. Do you like fire? This time of year, I do a LOT, but like any other time, it needs to be fully controlled.

26. What are you allergic to? Dust, mold, pollen, dogs, cats...the universe and everything in it...and mean people who don't tell the truth.

27. When was the last time you cried? Really cried? I don't know--surprisingly.

28. Have you ever been to a spa? Yes.

29. Did you take science all four years of high school? Good gawd NO! I took the bare minimum including Chemistry for Dummies and Physiology.

30. Do you like butterflies? I guess. I don't pay a lot of attention to them.

31. Do you like Coke or Pepsi more? Regular Coke, and Diet Pepsi.

32. What is one thing you miss about your past? Mountains in the immediate area.

33. Did you ever see the school counselor? Yes, primarily for academic purposes.

34. Did you ever wish you were a teacher? I have been a teacher! Not for pay, but I've worked with kids most of my life, certainly for 30 years off and on. I never wanted to do it for a living, though.

35. What is one thing you've learned about life? The hardest times in life are when you're probably learning the most stuff. Pay attention!

36. Are you jealous of anyone? Not cripplingly so.

37. Is anyone jealous of you? Probably. People are like that. But no one I know for sure.

38. Ever been stuck in an elevator? No. You know, I would probably not enjoy that very much at this point in my life, unless it was a 'glass' elevator. I seem to be in the process of developing some claustrophobic tendencies.

39. What does your dad call you? He called me by my name. When I was younger, he'd occasionally go with "kiddo" and very rarely he'd use my first and middle name. More commonly, I would be the List of Everyone in the Family. If you don't know what this means, you are an only child.

40. What does your mom call you? My name. When I was in trouble, my first and middle names. And the Family List. Often.

41. What does you hair look like right now? Flat and tired, I'm sure. It's been a long day.

42. Has a friend ever used you? Fuck yeah. {snort}

43. Has anyone recently told you that they like you more than as a friend? Nope.

44. What have you eaten today? Pop-Tarts, grilled cheese from last night's gourmet meal, Taco Bell for dinner, and LOTS OF SUGAR at work!

45. Is your hair naturally curly or straight? It's got a psychotic little wave with a mind of its own.

46. Who was the last person you drove with? Gotta be Beast, probably Saturday.

47. What are you looking forward to? Right now, I'm looking forward to going to bed. Longer term, I'm really anticipating next week's cataloging meeting, for the first time in months.

48. What did you dream last night? I don't remember anything I dreamed. That was 17 hours ago or so!!
