Monday's a Bitch

I Don't Wanna Work...

1. How accurate is your resume? If a potential employer checked up on every item listed, would they find any exaggerations (or complete falsehoods)?
My resume is totally out of date, but accurate up to the point where it stops. I hate doing resumes. Right now I'm fortunate enough to feel as if I don't really need to have it updated. My job is pretty secure.
2. What would you normally wear to a job interview?
Normally, anything but a suit. I'm boycotting suits. I'd wear a nice casual dress or skirt and blouse.
3. How well does your current employment or field of study reflect who you are as a person? If it doesn't, would you prefer if it did?
I'd say it's pretty accurate: picky, detail-oriented, public service-y, and boring. ;-)
4. Have you ever had your first impression of a job turn out to be significantly different from what really lay ahead?
Uhm, yeah. See 1987-1994 on my resume: the Reign of PsychoBoss.
Actually, though, I think--I hope!--most jobs evolve over time, and you never really know what you're going to end up doing. In my current workplace, that's a good thing.
5. Describe your worst job interview or job experience.
The latter would take too long. The worst job interview I had was when I interviewed for a job as Head of Technical Services at a good-sized library in southern Wisconsin about 15 years ago. By the third question, I knew I was totally out of my depth and didn't have a faint chance. Fortunately, the interviewer was professional and kind and treated me as if I was in the running: full-length interview, tour of the building, meeting the staff, etc.
