Friday 5

Judgment

1. When was the last time you did something against your better judgment, and what was the outcome?
Yesterday. Not sure what the outcome is yet. And that's why I'm awake at 3:30 a.m.
2. Who in your life seems to be a keen judge of character?
In some ways, Beast is when he doesn't have his blinders on. Amy is too.
3. If there is such a thing as Judgment Day, what do you think it will be like?
I don't believe in the whole literal interpretation of Revelation with all the weird symbology, but I do believe that on some level or another we all have to face the music for the decisions we've made and the things we've done. Call it karma if you like. What goes around comes around.
4. What were the circumstances that led you to the last time you stood before a judge?
When I had jury duty in Milwaukee about 15 years ago during voir dire. I was ultimately excused from serving. That's the last time I was in the presence of a judge knowingly. I'd like to think that perhaps judges might use the library, so it's possible I've talked to one at work.

Having said all that, in the overall sense of the last time I was judged, see Q1.
5. If a panel of judges were to evaluate your last potluck contribution, what might their comments be?
Amusingly, the last potluck we went to--about two weeks ago--was a chili cookoff, and mine didn't win. It wasn't that good, so it wasn't surprising. I didn't have the right ingredients to make a proper batch. The apple crisp I brought with the chili was a big hit, though.
