Saturday 6

Episode 130

1. You move to a new city: what is the first thing you're most likely to check out in your immediate surroundings: restaurants, grocery stores, shopping malls, movie theaters or historic sites?
From a practical point of view, I'll be heading for the grocery store PDQ. If I've spent any time at all looking for a house, I've probably already hit the restaurants, at least the fast-food kind, and taken note of stores in the area. Once I've unpacked a few boxes, I'll be heading to the library to get a card. Everything else can wait.
2. Consider the local television stations in your area: do you generally stay more with one station for entertainment and local news, or do you tend to rely on one station for local news and others for entertainment?
I don't watch TV news (sorry). Here's one reason why: last night, one of the local channels was teasing a story on a new theory about an event that happened 135 years ago. That's the story of the day? Between that sort of thing and the concept of "if it bleeds, it leads" I just can't deal with TV news. It just annoys me to be I get my news off the net--in RSS feeds--and NPR when I have time to listen, and from the local weekly paper.
I don't have a 'favorite' channel. Lately, we seem to be watching CBS more than anything else (Survivor, TAR, CSI) as far as 'shows' go. We watch a lot of football, so whatever channel(s) the games are on, we watch. And we watch a lot of cable: Discovery Channel, ESPN, HBO....
3. Is there a set time of day or night that you blog, or do you just post whenever the spirit moves you?
Mostly evenings and early mornings. But I blog from work when something happens there, and I blog at home whenever I can.
4. How often do you write a blog entry, then save it as a "draft" rather than publishing it immediately to think it over before actually posting it?
Not often. I probably should do more of that.
5. Which makes a better dessert after a good meal: ice cream, pie, or cake?
I prefer fruit pie, or cake. But good cake, like wedding cake, or (this is kind of a stretch) tiramisu. Hey, it's got cake-like qualities...! hee
6. What is your favorite flavor of the item you selected in question #5?
Overall, I'd rather have a good piece of cherry pie. [NOT this kind, incidentally!]
