1. How did you spend your last summer weekend?
Technically, that won't be until this upcoming weekend. Sparky will be at a confirmation retreat; I'm not sure what we'll do, although I have to work on Saturday. Maybe we'll go see a movie or something....2. What was your song of the summer?
Our Labor Day weekend, the traditional end of summer was jam-packed with stuff going on. The previous weekend, before Sparky started school, was completely free and restful and great!
One of the down-sides of not listening to the radio is not having songs that are played over and over and ingrained into your head a la "wow, I remember listening to that song ALL SUMMER in 1992!!" So, yeah, there hasn't been a 'song of the summer' for me.3. Did you have a summer fling?
The only thing that comes close to this is Sparky and me spending hours during August watching the first 3 seasons of CSI on DVD together. That will stick in my head for a long time!
Hmm, how to answer this.... :-) I celebrated my 20th anniversary this summer. We had a little vacation/fling. Does that count?4. Was there anything you wanted to get around to doing that you didn't?
There's always stuff I want to do that doesn't fit in. I would have liked to have gotten tickets to see the Tut exhibit in Chicago, but there's still time for that this fall.5. What were your major events this summer? (i.e., Did you take any trips? See any good shows? Anyone close to you get married? etc.)
This was a really nice low-key summer. We went on vacation for a week together, Sparky went to camp for a week, we had a long weekend for our anniversary. We drove to Mississippi with several people from church to help rebuild after Katrina for a week. That was kind of our vacation. There were no weddings this year. There will be a new baby AND a wedding in the family by next year this time. No one in the household went in the hospital this summer, either. It was just a lovely, calm summer.
