Meet & Greet

Monday Morning

What gives you joy?
Simple joy: Little furry critters
Vocational joy: Filling in a bib record completely
Avocational joy: Writing
Vicarious joy: Hearing kids talk about their joys
Quotidian joy: Sudoku
What is your favorite sound?
Children's giggles.
Describe a perfect day in your world.
Up early enough to have a relaxing shower and breakfast, time enough to do the morning Bloglines check
Arrive at work early, before anyone but the janitor arrives
Put on the headphones, grab some books and start cataloging, for several hours. Lots of complicated but doable stuff, and a nice mixture of adult nonfiction, kids books, media...
Quick trip to Culvers for lunch: chicken cashew salad, butterscotch malt
Finish up the morning's cataloging, check email, read my RSS feeds and properly link to them so they aren't hanging over my head
Pick up Sparky on my way home from work. Pick up mail and sort through it. Start dinner (premade, ready to go)
Check home email, etc.
Eat dinner, clean up, read magazine/catch up blogs/Sudoku...bath...bed

OR

A vacation where I get to see lots of different things over the course of the day, or where I get to spend the day on a dock of a lake reading, napping, eating...
What do you hope to hear once you reach the pearly gates?
"Come on in!"
You have up to 15 words: what would you put on your tombstone?
Live, laugh, love...and rest
What color do you prefer your pen?
thin point black or blue
I prefer pencils, however
What magazines do you subscribe to?
I get, EW, American Libraries, Presbyterians Today, Ignite...I think that's it.
Sparky gets an anime thing, and Breakaway.
Beast gets Scientific American, Discover, and Scientific American.
Why are you cool?
I have a blog. What more can I say? :-)
What is one of your favorite memories?
San Diego with Beast in 1988 or -89 over a weekend. Beautiful weather, beautiful hotel, beautiful city, very relaxing... I really love San Diego.
Got a funny story?
I've got a million.
What is something you want to achieve this year? This decade? This lifetime?
Wow, uhm...This year is hard. I guess I'd like to get the office more organized here at home. It would be nice to get some more of my folks' boxes of stuff organized.
This decade: Throw some things away. Get all our photos into safe albums and labeled, just the easy kind, not scrapbooking. Get Sparky through high school and college. Maybe take some sem courses.
This lifetime: Make lots of memories, take care of my family, learn a lot, die happy.
