- Do you plan ahead for your reading? Work off of a to-be-read pile? A reading list? Or do you wing it, choose whatever you're in the mood for?
I have lists upon lists, all cross-referenced and arranged in varying order, and all checked to see if they are in specific library catalogs. I don't really buy that many books. However, the last two books I read were ones I cataloged and then reserved for myself at that point.
- If you do plan ahead, how far ahead? Do you have two or three books waiting in queue? Or are you backed up by dozens of volumes waiting their turn? Those lists? About 600 books on them.
I sometimes have as many as 25 books checked out, but lately I haven't been reading much lately, so I think I only have 3 checked out now.
- If you do not plan ahead . . . well,
never ? What about if you're reading a series? Or someone gives you a book for a present?I fear I don't understand this question exactly. Here's the deal: I have lists, and good intentions. I fall off from those intentions pretty regularly, if someone gives me a book, if I get tired of being "programmed" (I don't even like to take orders from me...how pathetic is that?), if I spy something that looks cool, or if a crisis erupts and I need to read about it (health, family, you-name-it)....
