1. Assisted living or nursing home?

But, see, they are two different things. Assisted living--where my mom is now--is when you can still get around and do basic self-care, and be somewhat independent. Nursing homes--where my mom will be by Christmas, I think--is when you can't do anything much for yourself and must rely on nurses and caregivers for everything.

Of course, I'd rather be in assisted living for as long as possible. Who wouldn't? Who wants lose independence and dignity all at once?

2. What is your least favorite clinic to go to?

I don't understand this question. For general stuff, we go to a clinic which has GPs, Pediatricians, and Ob/Gyns. I'm not a huge fan of the office staff at this clinic. I see an eye doctor in a completely separate town. I see a dentist somewhere else. My allergist is also a stand-alone. I also had an endocrinologist I had to see for a few years who was an hour away; that sucked.

The visit I'm dreading the most right now is the one to the dentist next month. I will be needing (some more) major dental work.

3. If you won the lottery, which loan would you pay off first?

The only outstanding loan we currently have is our mortgage. That would rock if we could pay it off 25 years early!

4. What do you want to be when your kids grow up?

A grandma. But not for about 15 years or so. I can wait...as long as friends and relatives continue to supply the 'baby-holding' need!

5. Do you still remember who your first grade teacher was?

Miss Campbell. I even have a picture of her in one of my scrapbooks. It's amusing; she's got the Official Early 70s Hairdo: teased bouffant with bangs (think Marlo Thomas in "That Girl").

6. How many years has it been since you graduated?

From what? From junior high school: 27. From high school: 24. From college: 20. From grad school: 18-1/2. From the school of life: still matriculating.

7. How many hours of sleep (including naps) do you need each day?I need about 7. I usually get between 5 and 8. This week--on vacation--I'm averaging 7, I think, so that's good. 8. Sex: weekly, monthly, or annually?

Weekly.

9. X-lax or Metamucil?

Ex-Lax is a little strong for me. I don't really need either most of the time, and Metamucil is totally gross!

10. Happiness is a warm puppy. Yes, I really think so.
