Summer Vacation

1. Since you're not a kid anymore, do you miss having a Summer Vacation? Why/why not?
Absolutely. It's one of the big bummers about being an adult!

2. What did 'Summer Vacation' mean to you as a kid? What was a typical summer like?
Really freakin' boring! I didn't do anything but read, watch TV, lay in the sun, eat, make cookies...wonderful.

3. Did your family ever take trips together in the summer, or some other sort of summer tradition?
We really didn't very often. Both parents worked, so we'd usually do short trips. Once in awhile we'd have a long, two-week trip to visit one of my sisters or something. Usually in August, though June was a big travel month too.

Bonus Question: When you were a kid, what was the *best* thing about summer? Why?
Wow. At the beginning of the summer it was the sheer lenght of all those unfilled, unschooled days stretching out before me. At the end, it was shopping for school clothes and supplies and anticipating getting back into a routine.
