What is a word that you use that would not be considered common?

I got dinged within the last week for using a Big Word, but I can't remember now what it was. It fit the situation.

I used the word "screed" within the last 48 hours; does that count?

As for one word I use all the time that's unusual, or uncommon.....can't think of one.

The ones in the house are primarily lighthouses.

Beast, Sparky, and ... er, no one else comes to mind.

If you could buy a new outfit for someone you know - who would it be and what would you purchase for them?

Why would I buy an outfit for someone else? It already annoys me to have to shop for Sparky.

On the other hand, there's a guy who uses the library a lot who wears shorts and a T-shirt most of the time. Everyone on staff would pool money to buy him longer pants. He's just an icky guy, with clothing and body problems. Then again, we'd get a bigger contribution to the pool if we were offering him money not to return to the library, ever.

There are other patrons in need of makeovers, too; some need better-fitting clothes, some just need more clothes (I really DON'T need to see that!).
