What is the minimum number of cats that a person can have where they cross the threshold from a 'cat owner' to a 'crazy cat lady/man'?

My niece had 4 cats when she got married to a guy with his own cat. That was verging on weird.

On the other hand, I work with a couple of women who have, respectively, one and two cats. The former woman is also single. The latter is actually certifiable.

I don't think it's the cats that make you crazy; crazy comes first. Maybe there should be a rule: if you are tending toward Crazy Cat Person behavior, adopt out the cats and get a dog. They keep you sane.
