Five on Friday

Opening Day
[by rights I shouldn't be doing this one...you'll see why...]

1. Who is your favorite Major League Baseball team? How about your favorite player?
I kind of have a minor, VERY minor, thing for the Diamondbacks. I don't currently think there's really anybody in baseball to emulate. Cal Ripken is the only "old-timer" who comes to mind. I like his work ethic.

2. Describe your first trip to see a baseball game.
Dad took me to see the Denver Bears (they were a minor league team for...someone...before the Rockies appeared on the scene) when I was around 10. They played in the same stadium as the Broncos played in, which was cool, but of course there were only about 5,000 fans there, so you could actually move! I have no memory of how the game actually went, just of being there with Dad. He taught me to keep score.

3. Do you plan to watch their season/home opener?
Nope. ["Their" who?]

4. Who do you think will be in the World Series this year?
I couldn't possibly care less.

5. What is your favorite baseball-related movie?
I like Field of Dreams (having seen where it was filmed). And Bull Durham makes me giggle. But I sorta like them in spite of the subject, not because of it. Oh, but I do like A League of Their Own....
