100 Questions

For die-hards (like Shelly) only. ;-)

1. ONE OF YOUR SCARS, HOW DID YOU GET IT?
I have a circular scar on my left knew where I fell when I was maybe 5 or 6. I was carrying picnic supplies out to the patio one summer day when I tripped over a long snag in the rug at the back door. My foot got completely hung up in the long loop (like 2 feet long) and I fel flat...on the bridge-piece between the carpet and the concrete. I remember shrieking (was that the time I remember Dad holding me upside down over the bathtub and whacking me on the back to get me to breathe?) and I remember a lot of blood. I seem to vaguely recall Mom yelling at Dad about not having fixed that snag for several weeks/months. Much drama. Don't remember dinner at all.

2. WHAT IS ON THE WALLS IN YOUR ROOM?
I'm going to assume this means my bedroom, since I suspect this was originally written by a teen. hee
So, on the walls of my bedroom: a cross I've owned for 30 years; a painting by the Beast's grandmother of a lighthouse; a card with dolphins on it, originally mailed to Brian in San Diego, which he returned in a frame; a lighthouse calendar; a large numbered copy of a boat near a fence outside a boathouse; a framed photo of a canal in Copenhagen taken by my brother-in-law; a dresser mirror that desperately needs to be resilvered.

3. WHAT DOES YOUR CELL PHONE LOOK LIKE?
It's a flip phone that does a bunch of stuff besides making phone calls, much of which I don't use. I tried to post a link, but the blogger photo thingy isn't working.

4. WHAT MUSIC DO YOU LIKE TO LISTEN TO?
It's shorter to say what I don't like: most opera, most rap, Country Western (I'll listen to regular country if I have to). Otherwise, bring it on.

5. DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME YOU WERE BORN?
Just before midnight.

6. WHAT DO YOU WANT MORE THAN ANYTHING RIGHT NOW?
More hours in the day.

My passport.

11. DO YOU GET SCARED IN THE DARK?

14. WHAT KIND OF HAIR DO YOU LIKE ON THE OPPOSITE SEX?
I prefer men's hair a little longer--past the ears--but with a good haircut. Doesn't have to be perfect-looking, but a good base is necessary. And, facial hair = required, pretty much.

15. WHERE CAN YOU SEE YOURSELF BEING PROPOSED TO AT?
Wow. I'd fix that sentence but it's too much fun to look at to! :-)

After cheese? Canadian bacon.

18. IF YOU COULD EAT ANYTHING RIGHT NOW, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Aside from more Tylenol for my headache? Hmm, a piece of cherry pie would be good.

19. WHO IS THE LAST PERSON YOU MADE MAD?
Probably someone at the meeting today. Seriously, I probably piss off Beast and Sparky pretty regularly, so that's a safe bet.

20. DO YOU SPEAK A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE?
I know a lot of words in different languages...I can make myself understood in Spanish if I put forth some effort. And I understand some German, some French, some Italian, some Greek, some Russian....

21. WHAT WAS THE FIRST GIFT SOMEONE EVER GAVE YOU (OF THE OPPOSITE SEX)?
Presumably, we are meant to exclude family members. I think it was my high school boyfriend, who brought me a huge bouquet of roses after, uhm, several weeks of dating. Mortifying, but in a nice way.

28. WOULD YOU FALL IN LOVE KNOWING THAT THE PERSON IS LEAVING?
Depends, doesn't it? Where's he going, what's he doing, why's he leaving? Probably not, though.

29. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO TELL SOMEONE HOW MUCH THEY MEAN TO YOU?
As I say to Sparky quite often: USE YOUR WORDS.

39. WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU FILLED OUT THIS SURVEY?

I could do it now. But, why? As Shelly wrote, this is me. I'm pretty comfortable in my skin.

41. WHY DID YOU FILL OUT THIS SURVEY?
I like answering questions. I'm a test-junky.

42. WHAT DO YOU GET COMPLIMENTED ABOUT MOST?
Depends where. At home, perhaps for meals (the boys have low expectations!). At work, occasionally for new outfits; more often for getting something done. Elsewhere, for being the "brainy one."

I would complain, but then probably wouldn't even notice.

45. HOW MANY KIDS DO YOU WANT?
I always planned to adopt, in theory. Then I decided I wanted to try the Big Adventure of pregnancy and childbirth. After doing the whole thing all the way through once, I decided I could check it off as "accomplished" and never do it again. Which I haven't.
So: one.
And lots of grandchildren in about 15 years.

46. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
My sisters got to pick my name (they felt my parents had done a lousy job with their names, which I tend to agree with). I think my sister knew someone with my first name. My middle name is after R. Switzer, a relative, but I'm not quite sure how we're related. All I can say is that it's a good name I didn't have speech problems as a child, or my name would have been a nightmare!

Usually. If not, I change it.

51. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
Another strange question. Thin-sliced roast beef.

Well, of course. The one I'm most likely to publicize here is ignoring work to blog/read/sleep/whatever.

53. WHAT IS YOUR MOST EMBARRASSING CD ON THE SHELF?
I don't think I have any embarrassing CDs. That Backstreet Boys CD is Sparky's, I tell you! :-)
I have some embarrassing records, though. I like the music, but I can't tell anyone or you'll laugh.

54. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
If I were one of my friends I would be. How's that for circular logic?!
I'd actually probably drive myself completely nuts.

56. DO LOOKS MATTER?

See #10 above. No.

74. WHO/WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST RIGHT NOW?
My sister's birthday was the 5th. I miss her a lot this time of year (she died on her birthday eve in 1994). Then I miss Dad, too.

75. DO YOU WANT EVERYONE TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS?

Alc. : right now I'm kind of in a rum-and-eggnog phase. Normally, v&t.

To watch: football, minor league baseball.
To play: volleyball. I don't mind shooting baskets, but don't like to actually play basektball.

85. HAIR COLOR?
Underneath the dye, I'm dark brown with an increasing amount of gray. Once I'm mostly gray, the dying will stop.
The dye is a dark brown/red-tint/ash blonde mixture. Sounds horrible, doesn't it?

86. EYE COLOR?
Hazel.

87. DO YOU WEAR GLASSES?
Does "blind as a bat" mean anything to you? I tried contacts for one summer 20 years ago. It was a bad idea.

Hands down: summer.
