A Week of Good Behavior
- What’s the dumbest thing you did this week?
Allowing myself to get drawn into the Friday Bitch-fest at work yesterday. Everyone's crabby, one person was a complete jerk all week, and it's frantically busy right now with programming. I need to go back to "stay the hell out of the emotional quagmire" mode I've been in fairly successfully all winter.
- In what way did you save yourself time or energy this week?
I didn't park at the hospital for two days waiting on Beast. Actually, despite my answer to #1, I think this week I handled myself very well. For the first time in awhile, I feel pretty good about things.
- How were you wasteful of personal and natural resources this week?
The emotional-eating monster reared up, but in clearly identifiable mode. I went through an awful lot of gas driving hither and yon. I'm sure there are other things but they're less concrete.
- When this week did you take advantage of the opportunity to keep your mouth shut?
Yesterday: not nearly enough! Monday and Tuesday, pretty much every minute of both days!! "Does it need to be said?" Does it need to be said by me? Can I say it kindly?" And, of course, walking away from horrible behavior online after the shooting; I refused to get involved in evil comment-strings.
- In what way this week were you blessed or fortunate?
Right now, it seems that Beast has made some positive, long-term healthy decisions. I (re)discovered how many wonderful friends I have who back me (us) up. Work was mostly interesting and I didn't get overly wrapped up in the drama--till yesterday, and even then not like I used to. The weather has been OUTSTANDING!! I'm really more blessed than I have a right to be.

It's hard not to participate in the venting at work, isn't it?
It's seldom easy to keep to the high road, and sometimes it doesn't seem worth it, but I'm convinced it always is.
