Things I've Learned in the Last Few Weeks
- Sleep is for wimps.
- Bad shit does seem to all happen at once.
- Crying is important, but it's annoying when it keeps happening.
- There's always something worth smiling about...eventually.
- Anyone who thinks football is fun should talk to a former football player about how his body is feeling today.
- I can't help but like watching football, even knowing how former football players suffer.
- Allergy season will come up and kick my butt regardless of how fucked-over I already am.
- Always, always, always, make sure you know what kind and how much medication the doctor prescribed and take that, not what the pharmacist puts on the bottle!
- The "Ambien walk" is terrifying to everyone--the walker AND the people in the vicinity. Hide the car keys and all medications, and be prepared to do a lot of cleaning first thing in the morning.
- If you do it (sorta) right, when the kids leave home, they don't even need you.
- Yes, I can. I may not like it, but I can do it. Although, I'm pretty sure there is a time coming when I won't be able to do it.
- Staring nonstop at a computer screen for four straight hours--and I do mean nonstop, without looking down, or around, or at the desk--makes me seasick.
- I really do NOT have to attend every family event.

Do you have first-hand experience with the Ambien walk? How scary!
Yeah, Beast has stopped taking it, after wandering the house, opening the front door, leaving weird puddles in unusual places, and taking (my) medication...all while asleep. Those are just the things we know about.
