Thursday 13

(Link in meme-roll)
My Day (-Off work)
Since leaving work yesterday at 4 p.m., I have...
  1. Dropped off my 15th-work-anniversary-award request at City Hall. Can't believe it, although technically by the time I get the award I'll be about 10 weeks away from my 16th anniversary.
  2. Made homemade mac and cheese for Sparky's last meal at home for awhile.
  3. Figured out why my peanut oil and canola oil bottles have melted. Apparently the light in the microwave is Pretty Damn Hot, even through cupboard walls.
  4. Filled and ran the dishwasher.
  5. Watched TV, played Facebook games, etc. Took a bath, read, did a crossword.
  6. Slept. Poorly.
  7. Woke Beast up.
  8. Took Beast for his second spinal cortisone shot (which I hope will get him back to 50% at least, and soon!)
  9. Brought him home, stopping at McDonald's for breakfast first, at 10:30.
  10. Chilled out briefly.
  11. Realized we didn't have a bike carrier for tomorrow, made random calls, put out a plea on Facebook...Facebook saves our bacon.
  12. Went to pick up carrier from our friends, along with dorm food, a computer bag...and gas for the car. Got to hold a 2-week old baby for 10 minutes. Awesome!! Seriously, babies are amazing.
  13. Packed the car. Mostly, I watched, and marked up Sparky's bike so it's identifiable in the event that it's stolen.
That's the bare-bones outline. Also, carried boxes downstairs, taped and labeled boxes, emptied, the dishwasher, found a new pillow for Sparky to take to school (!!), listened to endless whining on CNN about earthquakes and hurricanes (really, East Coast, you are not the center of the universe. I mean, I feel sorry for the poor and those who really in need of assistance in the evacuation, but the rest of you are just whiners! Grow a pair, suck it up, and recognize that most of us just don't fuckin' care about your drama! Hey, there were actually other earthquakes this week, didja know?), and watched Beast try to deal with pain. Oh, and tried like hell to not focus on the big picture which just makes me want to cry and cry and cry and cry....
