Saturday 9

(Link in meme-roll)
Changes
[in which I go off on Teh Stupid]

1. Tell us about one thing that you'd change about yourself if you could.
After eliminating all the things about myself that I could change but just don't, I'm left with different-colored eyes, or better genetics re allergies and eye architecture.
2. Mattel decides to make a Barbie-like (or Ken-like) doll of you -- what would be the most important accessory or accessories they would absolutely have to package you with in order to portray your lifestyle?
Laptop, glasses, BOOKS!
3. Hey, do you like surprises? If yes, what kinds?
Hey! I like some surprises: funny stuff, identifying babies' gender at birth, parties.... Some surprises are definitely over-rated, however: pies in the face, losing things, medical test results, etc.
4. What was the last snail mail that you received that was significant?
"Significant" covers a pretty broad range. Let's call it Wednesday's local paper, which I haven't read yet.
5. If you could pick out a brand new nickname for yourself, what would you choose and why?
Oh, I dunno; I sorta like those I have. "Asshat" is so fitting, after all. :-)
6. John Edward's mistress was on Oprah this past Thursday. She stated that no third person can break up a marriage, so it had to be broken before the two started doing the nasty. Do you buy that?
While I tend to agree that she isn't the only person to blame here (ahem--John Edwards, you asshole!), she is a skanky piece-of-shit ho. Rationalization gets you nowhere with me, you slut, and I don't really care how many white lights and fireworks went off when you and the Asshole were in a room together; just say no, you selfish c---. Good Lord, if someone stole your car from a parking lot, would you be ok with the insurance company telling you it's your fault? Man up, shit-for-brains.*
7. Do you think it is okay to keep secrets from your s/o?
Of course. Some words are better left unsaid. However, if it's something that affects him, it's NOT ok. Somewhere I read something about good secrets being the kind that you will tell, just not right now (Christmas gifts, etc.) while bad secrets are those you would (prefer to) take to the grave (infidelity, etc.).
8. Have you ever played Truth or Dare? If yes, what's the weirdest dare that you did?
I think so, but if I did I was probably around 13--possibly younger--so the dares would have involved silly kid things like eating horrible food concoctions or getting noogied.
9. What, in hindsight, the stupidest thing that you have ever done?
Let the Carousel of Stupid begin...yeah:
  • Agreeing to stand up in a wedding that I knew was probably doomed is right up there.
  • Maybe it's one of the many times I refused to back down from an argument.
  • Or, could it be staying in my first full-time job for more than...ohhhh....3 weeks? [I left after 6 years.]
...so many carousel animals to choose from, which shall I ride today?

*How the hell did Oprah not smack this dingbat upside the head, at least verbally?? She SO much more deserves it than Frey.

"She is a skanky piece-of-shit ho." sums it up perfectly. He is probably even worse. I don't usually judge people by affairs (I think no less or more of Tiger. I thought he was an arrogant prick before the 121 mistresses. I think no worse of him now." That said, cheating on a dying wife is a tad crass...

You have a point about the car in the parking lot. I hope it's over for good.

Gotta be honest here: I actually had no strong feelings either way (beyond the "a tad crass" level) until I saw part of this interview. She seems to have absolutely no concept of being at fault. None. Wow.
