Under The Covers Meme
(Read it and sleep)
1. Name 2 things you have done under the covers in the last week.
A crossword, and a Sudoku.2. Do you know what a woobie is? Do you have a special one?
Yes, I do, and no, I don't.3. What prompts you to pull the covers over your head and hide from the world?
Lately, work. It is absolutely kicking my ass.4. Firm or soft?
I like a seriously firm mattress. I'm going to go with this being a mattress question.5. Silk or flannel?
Cotton. Well, ok in the middle of winter, I do like flannel, but silk is crazy-slidey, which I hate.6. Lights on or off?
I can sleep either way. Light is not a factor.7. Fan or no air?
Personally, I'd rather the room be cold with no fan, but that's not always possible.8. Completely dark or nite light?
A little light is not a bad thing.9. Windows open or shut?
I'm easy either way, unless it's mid-allergy-season. Then, the house is locked up tight.10. Sweet dreams or nightmares?
Well, I definitely prefer sweet dreams! Does anyone seriously prefer nightmares? Last night I had a ton of really weird dreams, some of which were rather disturbing.11. PJ's or……?
PJs.12. Set bedtime?
Somewhere between 10 and midnight. It varies, and my going- to-sleep time is often different from my going-to-bed time.13. What do sheep count when they can't sleep?
Undoubtedly, blades of grass.14. What does your alarm clock sound like?
The one that goes off first is the radio. The second one, ten minutes later,is a horrible honking sound.15. White noise or music?
I wear earplugs every night: do whatever you want.16. TV or IPod?
No. Just...no.17. Can you recall a pleasant dream you'd like to share?
I can't think of anything recent. Life is too stressful for me to be having any fun dreams right now.18. Under the covers or outside the covers?
I prefer to snuggle all the way under the covers.19. Insomniac or sleep angel?
I lean towards insomnia, even under the best circumstances.20. What is your favorite sleep aid for those tossin' and turnin' nights?
Crossword puzzles on the living room couch at 2 a.m. work really well. If I suspect I'm going to have trouble, I take a Tylenol PM or two.21. Morning person or night person?
I really like mornings, especially if I can relax a little.22. Bedtime snack?
I try really hard not to snack right before bed.23. Hot or cold room?
Cool. Definitely NOT hot.24. Bedtime ritual?
Climb in bed, grab the clipboard and pencil and work on a puzzle till I'm falling asleep. Then I put the clipboard & pencil down, put in the ear plugs (if they aren't already in), apply lip balm and hand lotion, and roll over and hit the light.25. Twin, Queen, King, Bunk or Futon?
Not a fan of futons. I sleep in a queen-size, which needs to be replaced.26. Socks or naked feet?
I absolutely canNOT sleep with cold feet, so I almost always have sox on for at least part of the night.27. Bedroom door locked or unlocked?
Unlocked. I'd prefer if it were closed every night, but Beast grew up in a house where all the doors were wide open. So we have compromised on closing the door when there is company, but otherwise it's just closed most of the way.28. Tent or hotel room?
I.Do.Not.Camp. Wherever I stay has to have indoor plumbing.29. If you could be bored to sleep, what would bore you?
My boss, talking. Incessantly. Repeating herself and speaking in platitudes.30. Prayers or mantra?
I know loads of people who pray in bed, but I either fall asleep in the middle or get myself way too worked up.31. What was the worst nightmare you ever had?
Not going there, sorry.32. Please share any ideas on how to stop a person from snoring. I'm all ears.
I strongly (STRONGLY) recommend a sleep study for really bad snoring. My husband and father-in-law have sleep apnea and now have to use a machine to help them breathe, which has quite literally saved their lives. My earplugs started at the end of Beast's snoring-life, and now I'm just used to them. Before I discovered them, I spent at least half of my nights for 15+ years sleeping in the spare room or the living room.33. If one purely pleasant thought could ensure fast and sound deep sleep for you every night, what would your one thought be?
"I got everything done that I needed to do today."34. How many hours do you normally sleep?
5-7. Last night, I think I got a whopping 4, at best, but I napped in the afternoon yesterday, so I guess it evens out.35. Thunderstorms or quiet starry night?
I actually enjoy a good thunderstorm. Just thunder, no wind! And I absolutely don't mind quiet nights.36. Warm bath or hot shower?
Before bed, hot bath = ready to sleep.37. What is the craziest thing that ever happened in your bed?
Uh? Maybe when our previous dog came in to sleep from her last outside trip and jumped up to curl up next to me only to be LAUNCHED out of the bed and the room with the shout: "OMIGOD! SKUNK!"38. Name a song you could fall asleep to.
Brahm's Lullaby, of course. ;-)39. Who last told you a bedtime story?
I have no idea; it's been decades. Probably someone in college, on a lark.
