The Lucky Ones

1. Among people you know, who seems to be lucky in love?

I still may be recovering from that last Blogthings, but this requires some definition, I think. I mean, how do you define "lucky"? Or, for that matter, "love"? I suspect we each have our own mental picture of each of those terms. But in my case, I'll say that the people I think are the most comfortable with their relationship are Jean and Reg.

2. Among people you know, who seems to be lucky with money?

Beast. Which is convenient to say the least. ;-)

3. Among people you know, who’s lucky to be alive?

Warren. No contest.

4. Among people you know, who seems to have the worst luck?

I 'know' a lot of people at the library who fit the bill here, but among those people I know well, it's probably Katherine.

5. What kinds of good-luck charms do you own or carry?

I don't. I do keep some things that comfort me handy, but--and I was going to do a whole thing at the end of the questions anyway--I don't really believe in 'luck' per se. To a greater or lesser extent, we make our own luck. For instance, in the questions above, Beast is lucky with money in part because he understands it. Katherine's lack of luck has a lot to do with the way she lives her life. Yes, some people "have all the luck" and others "never get a break" but I can't help hearing my dad's voice saying, "You make your bed, you have to lie in it."
