Turkey Time
1. Where do you usually celebrate Thanksgiving? Do you host or visit someone else?
We have hosted almost every year we've been married. It hasn't always been a big crowd, and sometimes it was just us. Once we went to a local church's turkey dinner. Generally, though, we cook. This year, it looks like we'll have 8 around the table.2. How formal or informal is your celebration? Do you dress for dinner?
NOT formal! I do NOT do formal!!! "Dress for dinner"??? {Snort}3. What time do you eat? Do you go more for a brunch/lunch or a dinnertime celebration?
We usually eat at halftime. ;-) Somewhere in the 2:00-4:00 range, in reality. I don't actually guage it by the football game, though I've been asked to a few times. This year it doesn't matter: no one we care about it is playing anyway.4. What traditions do you observe?
We do all the standard foods: turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, corn or beans (or both), pumpkin pie (and some other kind for me). Then we just hang out and talk and goof off and appreciate those people who are present. Oh, and do dishes, since I do dress the TABLE for dinner with the good china from my parents'.5. What are you doing for the Friday after the holiday this year?
I will be at work.
