Chicken Soup
1. How often do you get sick with a cold? The flu? Something else?
All things considered, I'm generally pretty healthy except for the whole allergy thing. I get occasional colds, haven't had the flu in a couple of years (having now jinxed myself, I expect it will hit me...oh, say, next Thursday...?), and this stupid sinus thing that is apparently going to be part of my life now every winter.2. Are you the sort of person who goes to work or school no matter how sick you are or are you willing to stay at home when it gets bad?
Oh, I stay home. I've turned into a real baby, plus I don't feel that compelled to share my germs with others. I work with a person who has had an organ transplant so germs are particularly unwelcome in her case. In fact, I left work after three hours today!3. How do you like to treat a cold? What remedies do you like and why?
When I first start feeling the onset of a cold, I try to pop it with a megadose of Vitamin C. If that doesn't work, or if I don't catch it early enough, I generally go with lots of liquids and as much sleep as possible, along with whatever helps the symptoms in the meantime.4. What do you do to keep from getting sick in the winter?
I try to wash my hands more often, and keep the Vitamin C handy. However, I'm not all that concerned since my immune system is generally pretty healthy (too healthy?) and I'd rather be exposed to stuff and keep it in practice. Within reason, of course!5. What is your favorite thing to do when you stay home from work or school?
Sleep!!!!! If I'm really sick, I watch mindless TV because I can't concentrate on computers or reading.
