The Burning
1. have you ever used a tanning bed? why or why not? No, I'm really not interested in purchasing skin cancer, thanks.
2. do you tan easily, or do you have the red/white only option? I tan/freckle fairly easily, but it doesn't take long for me to go from faintly tan to solidly burnt. I'm more souffle than Red Velvet Cake, frankly.
3. have you ever had skin cancer, or know anyone who has? I know plenty of people who've had it. One of my library school classmates' brother died of skin cancer in his 30s.
4. have you ever had a sunburn so bad you blistered? Yup. Several times. Cuz I'm a slow learner. Also stoopud.
5. when was the last time you burned yourself on something hot? The water in the bathtub was a little warm when I first stepped in one night last week, but it was more "yipes!" and hop back out than a serious burn. Previous to that was probably something involving an oven a few months back, and also nothing serious. Or possible I got the curling iron too close to my head.
6. when was the last time you attended (or made) a bonfire? Decades for the big-ass Midwestern version. Beast likes to burn things, so we have small chimnea-type fires all summer.
7. do you use spf every day (as in a makeup), or what spf do you use in your suntan lotion? I don't wear makeup, and regular sunscreen is too greasy and heavy for my skin every day, aside from which I work INside! When I'm outside, I go for the SPF30 or more, the higher the better.
8. where you're at, when will it be warm enough to wear a bathing suit or get some rays? It is currently -2degrees F, so this question sort of feels like "Never!" but probably by mid-May there will be people wearing swimsuits. Not me, mind you, but "people."
