1) What period of your past life do you think or dream about most?
Usually I dream about what has been happening just the last few days. I probably think the most about my high school/college years, though.2) Describe the kitchen in the house in which you grew up.
It was L shaped, with the kitchen table in the short leg of the L. When you walked in from the dining room, the table was to the left and the doors to the back stairs and my parents bedroom were about five feet to the right with the phone and calendar on the wall between all the doors. The long leg of the L was the work area, with the fridge to the left next to the table and the oven and range top to the right. The cereal cupboard was above the oven, the canned goods were below it. Then there was a narrow counter and cupboard (I think the lower cupboard had canned fruit in it; the upper cupboard had spices) and then the range top with the pots and pans below and the "staples" (rice, beans, salt, etc.) above. Next to the rangetop was where the casseroles and toothpicks and (good heavens what was in the lower cupboards??) other stuff was. The sink was under the window at the end of the room. The upper cupboards at the left side of the kitchen held all the dishes and the lower cupboards and drawers were filled with baking supplies (flour, sugar, etc.), silverware, plastic reusable containers, towels, aprons....3) In what store would you like to work? Why?
I was spoiled: we had a big kitchen for the era in which the house was built. I've been trying to find that much space again for 20 years!!
Kohl's, Best Buy, or Circuit City...for the discount. ;-) It's the only reason I'd ever want to work retail.4) What was the most difficult choice you were ever forced to make?
Whether to wake Sparky up and take him to the ER with me and Beast at 1 a.m. a couple of years ago. Ultimately, I took Beast, came home long enough to see Sparky off to school, and then went back to the hospital.5) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.
It reminds me that I always forget to think about a centerpiece for "fancy meals" (like Thanksgiving), and even if I had all the components for something like this one, it wouldn't turn out looking this nice. But it does remind me of fall, of Thanksgiving, and I like the colors.
