1) If you could have eased the death of one person, whose would it have been?
I can't think of anyone personal, but I guess I would have liked to know that Mother Teresa really did die peacefully. The book that just came out with her journals and letters makes it sound as if she struggled mightily in life.2) What value do you consider most important when choosing a friend?
Sense of humor, which involves thinking quickly and not taking life seriously all the time.3) If the U.S. had to give up one state, which one would you pick? Why?
The easy (for me) answer is Texas, since that's what all Colorado natives would probably choose. Ever noticed how each state's citizens profess sheer loathing for all people in (usually) one other state? Anyway, if I couldn't get rid of Texas, I think I'd go for California, just because at some point it's going to fall off the continent anyway.4) When (at what age, or during what event) did you have the least self-confidence?
Most of my childhood, but especially between 11 and 14 (of course). And I was flat-out TERRIFIED on the flight to Russia in 1984.5) Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one.
Unfortunately, it's still allergy season for me, so my first thought is how I'm probably going to get sick if I stay long in this picture. Too many growing things, and the house looks old enough to have some major dust and mold issues.
On a completely non-practicel side, it looks like a lovely, peaceful place. Actually, could this be the house of Snow White and the dwarves? It would also make a wonderful writer's retreat.
