Are You Afraid?
1. Are you afraid to die? Why/why not?
Not really. I'm afraid of the potentially-long road that leads up to it, not being a fan of pain or frustration. Death itself, strangely, has become not exactly friendly-sounding (cuz, really, I'm not suicidal!), just not scary. I used to be afraid of it. Now it's like any other event in the future: it's there, you can't remember/know exactly when it arrives, but it'll be there, you might as well plan for it.2. Are you afraid of getting old? Why/why not? Do you have any fears about getting old? If so, what are they? If not, why not?
I don't have fears about getting old per se. I have fears about my body deciding to play tricks on me. Being the Way Youngest means I get to see a lot of the possibilities: heart disease, cancer, Parkinson's, knee surgery, diabetes, back surgery, etc. Maybe I'll forge my own path...I just hope it's not a worse one!3. In general, do you feel safe? How so/how not?
Yes. We live in a relatively crime-free area (major felony crimes, at least), and are careful about our behaviors, trying to keep ourselves from situations that scream danger. Except driving; can't avoid that.
