School
1. School,…couldn’t wait or dreaded hell?
Couldn't wait! For a few days, anyway (usually longer).2. School supplies,… junkie or couldn’t care less?
I'm a total school-supply junkie. I miss Peachies; are they still around in Colorado, I wonder?3. The locker,… organized or a chaotic mess?
Fairly organized.4. Lunch time,… bring or buy?
In grade school, I mostly had to bring. Somehow, Mom capitulated in jr. high and high school and let me buy.5. Sports,… jock or not?
Mostly not, though I did volleyball one year and basketball another year. And I hung around with the wrestling team a lot in high school.6. Music,… band, chorus, orchestra, or none of the above? If yes, what insturment or part?
One year of band, two (?) years in orchestra, six years in band, two years in wind ensemble, two years in the pit orchestra for the musical.7. Report cards,… grounded or rewarded?!
Neither. My dad once asked me--jokingly, I assure you!--why I got an A- in a class. What was the minus for? That was how we kidded. I rarely got Bs and NEVER got a C or lower! The earth would have stopped revolving, I think.8. Reunions,… a good idea, or thanks, but no?
I had a good time at our 20th high school reunion, because I was part of the committee planning it, and because we on the committee made a specific effort to say hi to EVERYone, not just our old 'clique.' Our 20th college was fun too, but MUCH smaller, and really weird.9. School friends,…. still have them or grown apart?
I'm still in touch with 90% of the h.s. friends, as in have their addresses/email/phone. Don't contact them all that often, but saw everyone at the reunion. Except Teri, who has fallen off the planet, I guess. College is spottier, but I think I'm in contact with more college friends than most people are.10. Favorite class?
Of all time? Introduction to New Testament, freshman year of college. It changed my life completely.
