Chiefs and Indians
1. Are you a Chief or an Indian when it comes to work, working on projects, etc.? Why/how so?
I tend more towards Chief. I don't always take direction well, and I definitely don't like being micro-managed, but I do like having a clue about what I'm supposed to be working toward. I need to have buy-in, too, or you really are not going to get anywhere close to 100% of my attention. ...as if I give anything 100% of my attention...2. Are you able to be both a Chief and an Indian when the situation calls for it? Why/why not?
I can't be both at the same time, I don't think. But I have learned to keep my opinions to myself and be a good little lemming if necessary. At least short-term.3. Is there a particular situation as of late where you have had to be one or the other? What was it?
I spent nearly all of 2006 being a sheep (baaah, baaah!). I'm having to edge toward taking charge of more things because of a couple of different work situations.
