Health Issues

1. Do you pay much attention to your body? Do you know when you are doing too much of something, not getting enough of something, etc? How do you know/not know?
I do pay some attention to what's up internally. I always know, for instance, when I've eaten something too rich, or too spicy. I also usually know the difference between a cold and allergies, between stress/tension headaches and coming-down-with-something headaches. I diagnosed myself with hyperthyroidism before seeing the doctor, too.
2. Have you ever had a health issue that you couldn't solve yourself (other than a sinus infection or something like that)? If so, what steps did you take to resolve it? Did you resolve it?
Plenty of 'em: allergies, exploding tumors, horrible eyesight, vertigo, headaches and backaches that were outside the boundaries of normal, the aforementioned hyperthyroidism. I'm more than willing to see a doctor for stuff, though I'm also perfectly capable of arguing about the best treatment if I know something isn't going to work (no, really, I'm NOT taking antibiotics for allergies, SIR!).
3. Have you ever had to hop from doctor to doctor to doctor to get a diagnosis? If so, how did you handle it? What are your thoughts about having to hop from doctor to doctor to get a diagnosis?
For awhile, I was seeing a 'generalist' and six specialists for assorted things. I still see two of the specialists, but only for maintenance stuff. Much of the doctor-hopping I've had to do, however, is because of insurance coverage, which I HATED. The doctors I had with our former insurance were better than the ones I've ended up with, but such is life. The current ones aren't all that bad. When you've had excellent rapport with a doctor, though, you know when it's not theere.
