Monday Madness

(Link at left)

1. When is the last time you planned for a party/social gathering at your house?
We had a VERY small party for Sparky's confirmation last month. Before that was probably Thanksgiving last fall.
2. What type of event was it?
Oops, sorry...jumped ahead.
3. Do you enjoy hosting parties at your house, or do you find the preparation stressful?
To be honest, I don't get too stressed about them, and I enjoy doing them. My problem is that I just don't think about doing them very often except for Really Big Deals.
4. Do you tend to have a lot more food than needed for these events, or are you pretty good about estimating how much to serve?
We're pretty spot-on. I always plan for leftovers, and with one exception we've never been completely overrun with after-party food issues. The one time we were was when I asked for help with the food from someone who used to cater...we had SO MUCH food! :-)
5. Some people have gatherings at their homes on a regular basis because it forces them to really CLEAN. How do you feel about this?
Yes, that's one reason we don't mind having people over. However, despite all my claims to the contrary (and the black ants that have recently begun a takeover attempt in the living room), our house is generally relatively tidy. There are lots of things that get left lying around, but it's a matter of an hour to sort that out, wipe down the kitchen counters, and vacuum the floor.
Up to this point, I have drawn the line at redecorating specifically for an event, but I know people who have redone kitchens, or living rooms, for family weddings. Yipe.
