Tex
[if you are from Texas, you might want to skip reading this one!]

1. Whether you’ve ever been there or not, what are your thoughts on Texas?
OK. As Beast said when I told him about this question, "Release the hounds!!!!"

I've been to Texas five times, if you count being the the Dallas airport twice. The individuals I ran into on all of those trips were really ok people. My brother and his family currently live near Dallas (though I haven't visited him there). We have VERY good friends who live in Houston. My college roommates both lived in Texas for awhile (one still does). Oh, and Beast went to high school outside of Houston.

Whew. Now that that's all outta the way....: I fucking LOATHE Texas. I grew up in Colorado, so hating Texas is the state hobby. "Fucking SHIFT into FUCKING low in the mountains, ya fucking TEXAN!!" Then there's the whole political 'thing'--WTF? The only Texas politician I liked was Ann Richards. And I love Molly Ivins. Otherwise, Famous People From Texas...feh. Just secede yer damn selves, ok, like you keep sayin' you want to. And, yeah, maybe leave the state once or twice and see the world. Cuz, y'know, Texas is not the center of the universe, unless your universe lives in your ASS. And that is why the mighty state in which our current president lives is called Tex-ASS in my household.

Not that I have any strong opinions one way or another on this issue....
2. Who was the last person you sent a text message to? If you’ve never sent someone a text message, is there some reason?
That would be Beast, from Colorado while Sparky and I were on spring break. Cheaper than calling.
3. Who’s usually the first person you go to when you have a tech-related problem, especially for computers?
Depends on whether I'm at work or not. If it's at home, it's sort of a toss-up between Beast and me who can figure it out. If it's at work, I hit Techie Librarian or our actual computer tech if I'm stumped. Sadly, I've become the go-to person for an awful lot of technical stuff. Yesterday as I walked past the circ desk, Miss W said, "Hey do you know how to change the picture on the computer? CT changed it to this one and it's ugly." So I faffed about for five minutes, and changed the desktop to the preloaded Microsoft desert island. And that's a simple one. More common is "Why is this video checking out for three weeks instead of one?" I can tell you why by looking at the computer for 5 seconds or less.
4. What was the best textbook you were ever assigned?
WTF? I hate textbooks! Boring, insulting, and retarded. I guess that proves that I'm a liberal arts major. Math & science textbooks are still boring, but they are at least useful and include everything, not just the non-controversial bits.
Ooh, but I did like when we (occasionally) used the Oxford Best .... literature books, though I'm not sure those are actually textbooks per se.
5. What are your thoughts on techno music?
I like it, within reason. It's good music to have on while doing mindless things like mopping floors and washing windows. I certainly wouldn't want to go to a club (or anywhere else) and listen to it for hours and hours without interruption.
