May Flowers

1. What are your favorite kinds of flowers?

Fresh-cut roses...actually fresh-cut anything is good. I'm liking lilacs right now.

2. Do you have any cut flowers in your home or office right now? What kinds?

I've some daisies from Mother's Day.

3. Are you growing/planting any live flowers inside or outside your home? What kinds and where?

I've got about six rose bushes in the yard. The iris are blooming right now, and the columbine, and some late tulips. I should take some pictures tomorrow.

4. Which flowers do you associate with specific people, places, or events?

Columbines remind me of Colorado; they are the state flower, and one of my favorite songs (by C.W. McCall). Roses remind me of my mom who had around 35 rosebushes in our yard when I was growing up. Daffodils remind me of my sister Ellen. White lilies remind me of funerals. I'm not fond of white flowers in general for this reason.

5. When was the last time you were given flowers as a gift?

Well, now. That would be Saturday, in advance of Mother's Day, from Beast.
