::Slicing and dicing::
Onesome: Slicing-- your way through the fairways of life? Terrible metaphor, eh? Do you have metaphor or simile that just drives you bonkers when you hear it?
I can't think of anything right now, though there are a lot of sports terms that are just silly. I know it gets boring to say West High School "beat" South High School, but stop already with the "crushed", "slammed" and "buried" stuff. Of course, it West did "bury" South with a score of 49-2 (football), that's ok. It's the 17-14 contests that irritate me.Twosome: and-- on and on and on. What's the duration of your 'long' phone calls? You know, the ones where you just chat and chat and chat? Guys, you may be able to pull an exemption on this one....
First, my husband talks to his parents for at least 45 minutes every week, and sometimes it's closer to 90 minutes. Two hours isn't unheard of.Threesome: dicing-- up anything for the game this weekend? ...or are you taking advantage of the sales? ...or is it a case of "what game?"
Secondly, I've spent up to about 2 hours on the phone, but rarely. I just don't have time to talk on the phone for 2 hours (and I refuse to have these kinds of phone calls in public, on a cell phone).
I just realized this morning that I should probably make something for the kids to nosh on Sunday night. It'll probably be chili and wings or burgers. We'll see.
