RevGal Friday Five

(Link at left)
friday five, tourist edition

1. What is one place you make sure to take out-of-town guests when they visit? (you can be vague to preserve your anonymity if you like)
We usually spend at least one day in the Big City to the East of us. There are lots of different museums, a large body of water, and just good people-watching there. Otherwise, we hit the Movie Tour in town (personally guided, by us). Or we head north to a much smaller body of water, a resort town with a really good chicken place.
2. When visiting another city or town, do you try to cram as much in as possible, or take it slow and easy?
My preference is to race around like a maniac. Beast would rather see two things over the course of several days. It's been a bit of a bone of contention all of our married life. I've learned to slow down, he's learned to speed up.
3. When traveling, where are we most likely to find you: strolling through a museum, checking out the local shopping, or _______________?
I don't shop while on vacation, except in gift shops. I do hit museums, famous sites and buildings, then I wander streets and parks, stop at restaurants and bars, that sort of thing.
4. Do you like organized tours and/or carefully planned itineraries, or would you rather strike out and just see what happens?
I'm good either way, though I prefer to have at least some time to do my own thing for awhiel each day.
5. After an extended trip, what do you find yourself craving most about home?
Different clothes, quiet, my own bed, routine.
