What is something that most people consider a modern-day convenience that you consider to be a pain in the neck?
Telephones, in general, especially at home when I'm relaxing. I luuurve caller ID. Now I can ignore calls without ANY guilt since I won't answer any calls without an ID!! Frequently if I don't recognize the number I don't answer either.
Would you mind if someone else in your family named their newborn the same name as your child? Do you think it's rude?
If it were exactly the same (first and middle), I'd be surprised and kind of annoyed, I guess. It hasn't come up. My grand-nephew had the same middle name as Sparky and another nephew, which is the same as my youngest nephew's first name...which all is because it was my dad's first name. That's cool; his first name was entirely different. And, of course, I share my middle name with another of my nieces, and that's kind of cool.
What is kind of amazing is that of the 20-plus people in my family, the only names that are repeated are my father-in-law/hubby/son's first names. So far we haven't duplicated at all through intermarriage or reproduction. That's pretty amazing! (Yet ANOTHER niece is dating a guy who shares the FIL/hub/son name, however, so it could get dicey if they stay together...)
Today is my payday, and it's my husband's payday too. I get paid every week, he gets paid every other week. When is your payday?
I get paid every other Wednesday (no, I don't know why either). Beast gets paid alternate Fridays. This is his week for a check. Mine will arrive next Wednesday. Whatever; they're both deposited directly with a statement only appearing in print (mine in the check drawer at work, Beast's in the mail).
What is the most memorable bridge you've ever crossed?
Probably the two most dramatic are the Ponte Vecchio in Florence and the bridge over the Royal Gorge in Colorado. I've also walked a lot of suspension bridges.
And then there are the metaphorical bridges I've crossed...and frequently
burned behind me....
