1) Do you observe Advent in your church?
Yes. We're doing an extra-special one this year, since it is (finally!) the last one we'll have in our current building!!2) How about at home?
We start out with great intentions, and sometimes we even carry it through.3) Do you have a favorite Advent text or hymn?
I don't like the first weeks' lectionary at all, not being much of a dispensationalist (end-timer). The older I get, the more I appreciate Anna's story. My favorite hymn...hmm, I grew up singing Christmas carols all during December. I don't know the advent hymns as well, so I can't think of one besides "O Come, O Come Emanuel."4) Why is one of the candles in the Advent wreath pink? (You may tell the truth, but I'll like your answer better if it's funny.)
I have no idea...though I'd assume that would be week #4. All of our candles at church are the same color. I will, of course, be going out an researching this now, though....5) What's the funniest/kitschiest Advent calendar you've ever seen?
We have about 5 that we put up every year for Sparky to do. He's very methodical about it. I can't think of the kitschiest, though we have one from Australia complete with kangaroos. It's somewhat bizarre since my sister bought it in England. hee
