1. Do you believe there's such a thing as a chemical imbalance? Do you think that treating these problems with drugs is a good thing? Why/why not?
I absolutely believe in chemical imbalances (presumably in the brain). I think drugs are part of the solution, but sometimes the problems are situational not chemical, and sometimes they are both. And then there are the times that people just suck.2. What about drugs for brain-related stuff like depression? Do you think one should be able to get over it themselves, or do you think sometimes we all need a little help, and sometimes we need meds for awhile?
I'm taking Zoloft right now, for the third winter in a row (for Seasonal Affective Disorder), so I'm probably not able to answer this in an unbiased way. All I can say is that when I go back and read what I wrote the last couple of years before I caved in and started on the pills, it scares the crap outta me--and that's only the tip of the iceberg showing!!3. Who do you turn to when you have emotional crisis? Why?
Beast (poor, poor Beast), Jenny...and God. Because they all listen and don't tell me I'm an idiot; I don't have to "act" for them.Bonus Question: Are you ready to deal with Xmas? Will you be happy or sad when the holidays are over?
I'm somewhat ready, but I'm more anxious about Saturday's shower at this point. I will be sad when it's all over, though. I always am (although I'm also usually very pleased to have my relatively uncluttered living room back).
