Four for Friday

November 3

Q1 - Faith: Nearly half of all Americans are not sure God exists, according to a poll that also found divisions among the public on whether God is male or female or whether God has a human form and has control over individual or worldly events. The survey conducted by Harris Poll found that 42 percent of U.S. adults are not "absolutely certain" there is a God compared to 34 percent who felt that way when asked the same question three years ago. What do you think? Does God exist, and if so, do you think God has control over events?
I think that it's clear that there is Something beyond human knowledge, control and understanding that affects the world, Something outside natural laws. Call it God, or Allah, or whatever you prefer. The whole question of 'male or female' is completely artificial: if it's beyond humanity then gender doesn't even enter into the discussion. God is both. And neither. The point is that that we don't understand everything and we need to stop trying to convince ourselves that we do. Have a little humility, and some awareness that others might be right. Or wrong. Make up your mind and then be open to other interpretations.

OK, moving on...
Q2 - Work: Do you socialize with co-workers outside of the office?
Not very often, and not everyone. Some I never see outside of work. By choice.
Q3 - Holiday Travel: Are you traveling for the upcoming holidays or are you expecting family and friends to come to your home for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas?
A chunk of my family is coming this direction. We may be going to see Beast's family as well. It's all very complicated and stupid.
Q4 - You Choose: Which would you rather have...a personal assistant or a personal trainer?
Personal trainer. I don't need help organizing, I need to just do it, and I eventually do. However, the workouts...sigh. So easy to just let it go.
