What's in a Name?

Do you like your given name? I do, now.

Do you know how your parents chose your name? My parents did not choose my name: my sisters did.

Do you have any nicknames? Cat. And some others which I won't go into here since they would remove any aura of mystique I have. {that would be irony}

How do you feel about some of the more unusual names that have become popular lately? Do you think an odd name carries a stigma as the child grows up? Depends how odd. Since my first name is frequently misspelled, I can tell you: it's awfully annoying. Having to spell "C-H-N-I-E-I-Q-A-A-H" (Shen-eek-wa) every DAMN time is gonna get old, people. Don't do it to your kid; stick with "Lisa", "Amy", "Diana"...you know, the easy names that everyone can spell.
Notice how most boys still end up with mostly spellable names? Why? Because they have to think about careers. It's latent sexism, I tell you!!
