Four for Friday

Q1 - Holiday Decorations: We have a lot of 'holidays' here in the U.S., including New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Do you ever decorate your home or office space for a holiday? If so, which ones, and how far do you go with your decorating?
I decorate like a maniac at Christmas. It takes a full afternoon--4 or 5 hours--to get things put up (with at least two of us doing it), and another afternoon to pack it up. And we always miss something. Last year, it was the hotpads in the kitchen which have been sitting around waiting for this year ever since.

The other holidays, I do very little for: jack-o-lanterns on Halloween, and a centerpiece for Thanksgiving (sometimes), and on federal holidays I put out our flag.
Q2 - Birth: Were you born in a hospital or somewhere else?
Hospital.
Q3 - Shoes: Do you wear shoes inside your home?
Not usually. My mom used to yell at me about wearing out my socks when I was a kid, but I don't see a reason to have shoes on inside. I'd really rather not wear shoes anywhere, which is impractical around here in the winter.
Q4 - Congressional Pages: The United States Congress employs approximately 100 teenagers from around the country as pages who serve as messengers and who perform administrative tasks for members of Congress. Would you allow your teenage child to be a Congressional page?
Sure. Geez, things like this current hoo-haw happen EVERYwhere, in all sorts of venues, and barring certain jobs because of media neuroses is ridiculous.

No, my argument about Sparky doing this is that I don't particularly want him to be a politician. I don't think he's cut out for it, either.
