Saturday 6

Episode 125

1. What was the last charity you donated something to? How long ago did you make your last donation?
I'm pretty sure I saw an envelope go into the offering plate last Sunday. And the monthly bill for Food for the Hungry came this week. So, one of those two.
2. Describe the worst weather event/national disaster that you experienced firsthand.
Most recently was a microburst in our area about three years ago. It's why we have a weather radio on all the time, and food and water in the basement, not to mention about 35 flashlights scattered around the house!

I've also lived through--and driven through--some really bad snowstorms.
3. Did the experience you just described change you in any way, (or if you've never experienced such an event firsthand, do you think it would change you significantly)?
As noted above, we're a little more serious about the possibility of tornados, which I have a deep-seated fear of anyway. I'm not afraid of snow, but I have a very healthy respect for it.
4. Take the quiz: What subjects should you have studied in school?
My answer was posted here.
5. Did you actually study or major in any of the courses suggested by the quiz?
As noted in that entry, I'm not interested in most of the suggestions. I have, of course, taken a biology and a chemistry course, mostly to graduate from assorted institutions (high school and college). I enjoy reading and learning about biology on my own, but not in a educational environment (cells bore the living daylights out of me, and that's where these classes all seem to start!). Philosophy...eh, whatever.
6. What's your current screen saver? How long have you had it, and what do you like best about it?
It's rarely on at home, but it's just a scrolling marquee that says ...b l o g, i n t e r r u p t e d.... At work, it's a montage of all the images saved in my Photos file, which is really just downloaded buttons and snarky librarian sayings akin to "Hey, Read a #)!&$%^ing BOOK Once In Awhile, Would Ya??"
